How does the Body Work

How does the body work?
Do you ever wonder how the body works? Well in your body you have things like your brain, heart, bones, muscles and other things that help your body work.

Your brain tells your body what to do. Its signals get sent along your nerves all around your body.
Different parts of your brain control different things that you do. For example, in your brain you have a thinking area, which controls your thinking. You also have a movement area, a speech area, a vision area, a sensory area and a hearing area. Another thing you have is a cerebellum, which controls your balance, and it makes sure that your movements are smooth. If you damage your brain you might not be able to do some things.

You also have a heart, which is working all the time. Your blood goes into your heart and then your heart pumps the blood out. This takes the blood around your body. It takes less than a minute until your heart has pumped blood all around your body.

The bones in your body are very important. Your skeleton lets you move with the help of your muscles. Your skeleton is like a framework for your body to hold you up. You have lots of different bones in your body that all help you move. You have joints, which allow you to bend. Your elbows are joints and so are your knees you have joints in other places too. You have different types of joints, the ball and socket joint the pivot joint and the hinge joint. You have a ball and socket joint and because of this you can move your shoulder around in a circle. The hinge joint lets your knee bend backwards, but not forwards and the pivot joint let your wrists twist. Your bones also protect parts of your body like your brain, lungs and heart.

The muscles in your body tighten up and get smaller, this makes them pull which helps you to move. There is usually two muscles working together so that they can pull in too different directions. Sometimes when you hurt your muscles you might not be able to use that part of your body until it heals.

These are all things that help your body work. So I hope you now know some interesting information. By Jasmine ☺
